Cambodian workers at the Chu Se – Kampong Thom Rubber Company in Kampong Thom enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including free housing, monthly rice allowances, health insurance, and access to a wide range of amenities.
Over 1,200 houses, spanning 47,300 square meters and valued at 6.6 million USD, have been built to accommodate 200 indirect Vietnamese workers and nearly 3,200 direct Cambodian laborers.

This “worker village” is located in Stoung district, Kampong Thom province, and was developed by Chu Se Rubber Company, a subsidiary of the Vietnam Rubber Group (VRG), as part of its commitment to improving the living conditions of its workforce.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Linh, the General Director of Chu Se-Kampong Thom Rubber Company, interacted with the workers by visiting their living quarters and having a friendly chat.
Mr. Some Suby, a 37-year-old Cambodian, and his wife have been enjoying a stable life here for over two years. As rubber tappers and factory workers, they receive a comprehensive benefits package, including free housing, full salary, and a monthly rice allowance of 40 kilograms.

The rubber plantation project of Chu Se – Kampong Thom Rubber Joint Stock Company has fostered trust among the government and people in terms of socio-economic development, improving livelihoods, and reducing shifting cultivation. The project has developed residential areas with semi-detached houses following a standardized design and recruited long-term workers to ensure stable production.

The company not only provides workers with housing and a monthly rice allowance but also invests in their families’ well-being. Employees receive protective gear and full insurance coverage, while their children benefit from a quality education in a school worth 78,000 USD, featuring 3 classrooms, a library, and teachers’ quarters.

The first half of 2022 saw over 3,000 Cambodian workers at Chu Se – Kampong Thom Rubber Joint Stock Company enjoy an average monthly income of 7.5 million VND, indicating a significant improvement in their livelihoods.
The project includes a well-equipped health center providing basic healthcare services to the workers. For serious medical conditions, the company offers transportation to local hospitals. Additionally, a 215,000 USD temple is under construction to cater to the spiritual needs of the workforce.
