Chu Se Kampong Thom Rubber Company is the overall winner of the association

CSVNO – Chu Se Kampong Thom Rubber Company has emerged as the overall champion of the 2024 VRG Labor Union Sports Competition in Region V, Cambodia

The overall championship flag was presented to Chu Se Kampong Thom Rubber by Mr. Huynh Kim Nhut, Deputy General Director and Union President, and Mr. Chae Van Chan, Vice Governor of Kampong Thom.

The grand closing ceremony of the sports competition took place at Chu Se Kampong Thom Rubber Company in Cambodia. The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Chae Van Chan, Vice Governor of Kampong Thom, and other local dignitaries. Representing VRG were Mr. Huynh Kim Nhut, Deputy General Director and Union President, and delegates from 14 rubber projects, along with nearly 480 athletes.

As the Deputy General Director and Union President, Mr. Huynh Kim Nhut addressed the attendees at the closing ceremony.

The Region V Cambodia Sports Competition, which commenced on June 24th, was a grand event featuring 14 rubber companies and nearly 480 athletes from the Land of the Khmer. A total of 285 Cambodian workers participated. The competition encompassed six sports, including football, volleyball, badminton, tennis, iron ball, and tug-of-war.

Chu Se Kampong Thom Rubber Company clinched the top spot in the overall standings. Dong Phu Kratie Rubber Company and Dong Nai Kratie Rubber Company secured the second place. The third place was shared by Hoang Anh Mang Yang K Rubber Company, Krong Buk Ratanakiri Rubber Company, Tan Bien Kampong Thom Rubber Company, Vketi Rubber Company, and Ba Ria Kampong Thom Rubber Company. Encouragement prizes were given to Phuoc Hoa Kampong Thom Rubber Company, Mekong Rubber Company, and Dau Tieng Cambodia Rubber Company.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Mui, Vice President of the Vietnam Rubber Trade Union, praised the successful organization of the Region V sports competition. He noted that the competition had the highest athlete participation among all regions, with Cambodian athletes making up about 60% of the total. Chu Se Kampong Thom Rubber Company had the largest contingent of athletes.

Mr. Mui commended the athletes for their fair play and enthusiasm throughout the three-day competition. Despite language barriers, the competition ran smoothly thanks to the support of interpreters and the host unit.

As the host unit, Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, General Director of Chu Se Kampong Thom Rubber Company, expressed his pride in hosting the event. He highlighted the extensive preparations made by the company, including infrastructure development and the provision of support services such as referees and interpreters. Mr. Dung also expressed hope for continued support from local authorities to ensure the success of rubber companies in the region.

Vice Governor Chea Van Chan praised VRG for the successful hosting of the Region V Sports Competition. The event was a great success, offering a fun and engaging platform for both local and Vietnamese workers. The provincial government looks forward to more such events organized by VRG to foster greater interaction among employees.

Mr. Huynh Kim Nhut, Deputy General Director and President of the Vietnam Rubber Trade Union, emphasized that the Region V Sports Competition held a special significance as it coincided with the 57th anniversary of Vietnam-Cambodia diplomatic relations, the 95th anniversary of the Vietnamese rubber industry, and the 15th anniversary of Chu Se Kampong Thom Rubber Company.

VRG’s leadership believes that the Region V Sports Competition will serve as a platform to foster stronger connections and camaraderie among Vietnamese and Cambodian workers in the group’s member units. This is the first time VRG has organized such a large-scale sports event in Cambodia.

Mr. Nhut praised the successful organization of this year’s sports season, highlighting the many thrilling matches. He emphasized that every athlete who participated was a winner.

The Deputy General Director of VRG emphasized the importance of cooperation from the Group’s leadership, Cambodian member units, and the Kampong Thom provincial government in ensuring the success of the sports competition. This event is seen as a significant step in fostering stronger ties between Vietnam and Cambodia, and between VRG and the local government.

“The success of the sports competition has set a high bar for our employees. I am confident that they will carry this momentum forward and achieve our production and business targets for 2024,” Mr. Nhut stated.
